PMS or Pantone Color - Pantone is an industry-standard method of communicating color information to all printers and decorators. Use of
PMS identifiers insure that all imprinted materials and corporate collateral look the same.
4-Color or Full Color - Items with photographs are usually printed using 4-color process - a combination of cyan, magenta, yellow and black.
Most printed items like magnets, decals, postcards and business cards are printed using this method.
Spot Color - Printing method in which specific ink colors are used, as opposed to mixing process colors to achieve the desired hue.
Color Change - Changing the imprint color during the imprinting process
Copy Change - Making minor changes to the copy or artwork during the imprinting process (example: 3 sets of identical business cards for 3 individuals - only the Name changes on each card, but the rest of the layout is unchanged)
Setup or Screen Charges - charges required for imprinting your logo or message on the product
Die Charges - fees required to create the tooling to cut imprinted materials into shapes
Bleed - artwork is printed past the edge of the paper, then trimmed - the final product appears to have been printed to the edge
Safety - the area near the trimmed edge of a printed piece - live art or copy should NOT appear in this area, or it might get trimmed off
